Optional personal cloud sync

You can use Kharcha Khata locally without signing in, or explicitly enable personal sync after signing in with Google. Personal entries, budgets, saved recurring/daily-supply plans and private spaces are then stored in Firebase under your own account and synchronized across your devices. They are not shared with family or group members. An offline copy remains on each device. App-lock settings and unfinished drafts are not synchronized. Turning sync off or signing out stops further sync but does not delete existing cloud or device copies. Account deletion removes your personal cloud records; device copies and exports must be managed separately.

Delete your account & data / खाता र data मेटाउने

Open self-service account deletion / आफैं खाता मेटाउनुहोस्. Sign in with the Google account used in Kharcha Khata, review your family-data choices and confirm. This works without installing the app. In the app, open Settings → Account & data deletion.

The deletion flow includes both family households and friend/trip shared accounts. Removing entries can change the remaining members’ balances. You may keep shared records for other members, remove your linked profile and its records (or selected profiles in older unlinked households), or, if you own the family, delete the whole household. If you are the last account, its cloud household is deleted. If the owner keeps the household, ownership transfers to a remaining member.

Your Firebase Authentication profile (name, email and user ID), app profile and memberships are deleted. Selected profiles, transactions, notes, recurring bills and linked salary are removed from active cloud storage during the flow. All household records, settings and the join code are removed when you choose whole-household deletion. Empty technical markers without the record’s personal contents may remain to stop old devices from restoring deleted records. There is no scheduled retention period for deleted profile or record contents. Shared records you explicitly choose to keep remain available to your family.

If the process is interrupted, sign in here again and resume. It is not complete until the page confirms success. You can contact meroversetechnology@gmail.com if it cannot finish.

Earlier native Android versions could clear local data after account deletion. The current Flutter app opens the self-service deletion website; completing that website flow does not erase local ledgers, cached shared records, or exports on your devices. Remove those local copies separately using the operating system’s app-data controls or by removing the app after exporting any records you wish to keep. Other devices and previously exported backups or CSVs may retain copies; erase these separately. Signing out or uninstalling alone does not delete your cloud account. Your Google account is never deleted.

Data we use / प्रयोग हुने data

Kharcha Khata tracks family expenses and optional separate shared accounts for friends and trips. Shared accounts store each signed-in member’s Google name, email and user ID, expense shares, money transfers and receipt confirmations. Members of an account can see that account’s ledger and balances. The app does not transfer money. Entries, notes, member names, recurring bills, salary and budgets are stored on your device by default. Optional family sync uses your Google name, email and user ID to sign in through Firebase Authentication and stores family records in Cloud Firestore. Family members can read the shared ledger. In account-linked households, members can create, edit and delete only records attached to their own Google identity; older unlinked records remain read-only. Family and shared-account owners retain the explicit whole-account privacy deletion option. Shared-account entries retain a visible void history for corrections; confirmed money transfers cannot be silently rewritten. Data is encrypted in transit.

We do not sell data, display ads or use advertising trackers or analytics. Firebase processes account and family data to provide authentication and synchronization. The deletion page uses Firebase to authenticate you and perform the choices you confirm.

Optional daily check-in reminders are generated on the phone. Bills and subscription renewal dates are shown in the app; payments are recorded only after confirmation. Optional family reminder requests store the sender/recipient Google user IDs, requested day and timestamp in the family’s Firestore account; there is at most one current request per sender/recipient pair. Receipt depends on recipient opt-in, internet and Android background scheduling. Completion and snooze preferences remain on that device. Household cash allocations are stored separately from expenses and income; transaction occurrence times, when supplied, and entry creation times are part of the ledger. Manual backup and CSV files are saved where you choose and are not password-encrypted by the app. Cloud data remains until you delete it or request deletion. You can delete individual records in the app without deleting your cloud account.

Retired Google Drive backup

Google Drive backup and restore have been removed from the current source update dated 13 October 2026. Earlier installed versions may still provide this feature until updated. The replacement build cancels scheduled Drive work and removes locally saved backup passwords. It does not delete existing files in your Google Drive. Manage any old hidden app data in Google Drive settings and revoke the app's Drive authorization in your Google account if desired. The account-deletion website cannot delete Drive copies. Local file backup/export and restore remain available.

Common Flutter client

The Flutter client migrates earlier native records on the same device. It retains original native files and a local recovery snapshot, and keeps pending family changes locally until the server acknowledges them. Background notification checks store a separate local cursor. Signing in for family access alone does not upload personal records. Choosing personal cloud sync explicitly includes your existing saved personal records. Local file imports merge personal records and reject conflicting identifiers. These changes do not add Google Drive access or a new analytics service.

Subscriptions, cash and update checks

Subscription plans may store an NPR or USD price. A USD quote requests the selected date’s public selling rate from Nepal Rastra Bank (nrb.org.np). The request does not contain your ledger, plan name or price; the service receives normal connection information such as your IP address. The recorded NPR amount, original USD amount and rate/date are saved with the payment and shared only if it belongs to a family ledger.

Household cash allocations, linked expenses and next-month cash targets are visible to connected family members. Personal loans and repayment records stay in the selected private ledger. iPhone and iPad check Apple’s public listing for newer releases; Android uses Google Play’s update service. These checks do not send ledger contents. When app lock is enabled, private content is covered while locked or inactive; screenshots and recording are allowed after unlocking.

Email and password accounts

You can sign in using Google or email/password. Firebase Authentication manages passwords; the app does not store your password in ledger records or backups. Password reset and email verification use Firebase emails requested by you. An existing Google account can add password login while retaining its Firebase user ID. Account deletion supports either sign-in method and requires fresh authentication before cleanup.
